Hi, I'm M. C. I'm a programmer and researcher focused on making public interest information more accessible, understandable, and usable. I founded Transparency Toolkit, a non-profit that creates free software to help journalists, activists, and human rights groups collect and analyze data to better understand social issues. We especially focus on the collection of open data online and the creation of searchable document archives. I'm also a Thiel Fellow and an Echoing Green Fellow.
Before this, I graduated from Boston University in 2013 with a degree in civic technology and Boston University Academy in 2012. While in school, I did research at the MIT Media Lab, participated in Google Summer of Code, and was a member of the hackerspace BUILDS.
